So, if you haven't figured it out by now, you should know that my name isn't really Jenny GoLightly. I'm actually, Jennifer Wentz, a 25 year-old Web Monkey that lives in Rockville, Maryland. Where'd GoLightly come from? If you don't know, you obviously haven't seen Breakfast at Tiffany's. Run to the video store (or your Netflix queue) and get it!
I used to live in Jersey with my Future Husband (October 2007!), Chris, our little African Pygmy Hedgehog named Tonka and our crazy, but undeniably adorable pug puppy, Pixel. I graduated from Drexel University in 2002 with a Bachelor's of Science in Digital Media. The group of 16 Digital Media majors was affectionately dubbed "The Guinea Pigs" since we were the first group to go through all first 4 years of this new program. So I learned a lot of cool stuff like web design, digital imaging, 3D modeling, video editing and special effects. I found my niche with web design. I also have a strong interest in animation and would always take on these huge projects. Some came out the way I wanted, some didn't. But hey, I can still say I tried. Who else around here can say they know how to rotoscope AND do stop motion animation?!
We recently moved to the DC Metro area after I accepted a job with the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, a part of the Smithsonian Institution. I'm the Web Manager there and I love working in an art museum. It's contemporary art to boot, which is right up my alley. In my first two days there, I met one of the artists of our current shows (Cai Guo-Qiang...google him!).
I dunno what my hobbies are, per say...I basically live on the computer. When I'm not on one of my two computers, I'm probably shopping, watching a movie, playing with Pixel, knitting or reading. I'm learning how to knit, and I'm making a scarf that should be labelled "Slightly Irregular". I also spend my days bothering Chris and telling him how much I want an iPod. I love to travel, though I don't get to do it very often. For vacation, Chris and I have been to Florida, Mexico thrice, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Eventually, I'll be putting our vacation pics in the goPhotos section, so check back for that.
